A New Dutch Bros Means More Coffee and More Vibes

A pulsating bass thumps through the air. Flashing colored lights, the rich aroma of coffee, and high-energy “broistas” turn an ordinary drive-thru into a full-blown celebration. This is Dutch Bros—a coffee stand that feels more like a high-octane family, united by a mission to spread kindness, one cup at a time.
Bret Baysinger, a regional manager for Dutch Bros in Northern Colorado, knows this energy well. She joined the company at 19, leaving behind college and a promising soccer career in search of something more meaningful. While working at a Dutch Bros stand in Washington, she met operations manager Nate Frary, who had plans to open the second Dutch Bros franchise in company history. Bret, immediately drawn to the culture, knew just three months in that she wanted to follow Nate to Colorado and help bring his vision to life.
Since then, stands have popped up across Northern Colorado—Loveland, Fort Collins, Windsor, Greeley—and beyond. In summer 2024, the franchise made history by opening the first-ever Dutch Bros location in Wyoming. The response was overwhelming: customers camped out overnight just to be among the first to grab a Wyoming Dutch Bros drink and an exclusive sticker.
Riding that momentum, Nate and his team began scouting for their milestone 10th location. They landed on a bustling spot in Timnath, just off I-25 and Harmony near the busy Costco—prime territory for another caffeine-fueled community hub.
As the team prepared for expansion, Bret reflected on what made Dutch Bros so special. “It’s not just a job, it’s a family,” she said. At the heart of Dutch Bros is a powerful creed: ‘To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.’ Combine that with their three core values—speed, quality, and service—and you begin to understand the company’s commitment to people.

In early June 2025, the Timnath stand was finally ready. New hires were trained, transfers selected, and a “family dinner” was held to kick things off. A food truck parked outside. Franchise leaders gave heartfelt speeches. Teammates toured the shop, mingled, and set the tone for their new workplace. “This is the first time we’re all together, meeting, saying hi, and seeing who we’re starting this stand with,” said Brooke Capuano. “It’s literally our first introduction as coworkers.”
Training for a new Dutch Bros location is a unique process. New hires rotate through existing shops in the area, each with its own spin on the brand’s signature vibe. That can create a challenge when merging different shop cultures into a brand-new location. “It’s tricky,” Bret admitted. “There can be tension when different shop energies come together in a space without an established culture yet. How do we set the tone?”
That tone was set very early. At 12:11 a.m., the first customer camped out in line. By 4:30 a.m., staff were arriving for their shifts, greeted by a growing queue of 30 cars. Final pep talks were given, “dub shots” of energy drinks were tossed back, and the team hyped each other up for their first morning rush. “I saw the line when I pulled in and knew it was going to be a stellar morning,” said Hank Glasser, who transferred to the Timnath stand. “The energy was unreal.”
But then, disaster struck. Just 10 minutes after opening, the Wi-Fi went down. The solution? Free drinks. Without the ability to take orders or process payments, the first round of customers got a surprise dose of Dutch Bros hospitality.
While initial traffic in Timnath has been slower than expected, the team is optimistic that word of mouth will build momentum. As for Bret, she’s looking to the future. Fresh off the high of the tenth stand’s launch, she recently applied to become an operations manager for the first Dutch Bros in North Carolina, which could be a potential next step in her journey with the brand. If selected, her presence will be missed, but her Dutch Bros family is cheering her on.
Dutch Bros is expanding rapidly. In February 2025, the company celebrated its 1,000th location across 18 states. With 27 new shops opened in 2025 alone, Dutch Bros has its sights set on an ambitious goal: over 2,029 locations by 2029.
